Hi!

I am interested in getting a single-line tattoo on my leg. Something like the cat here: https://img1.rapidleaks.com/2019/05/best-single-line-tattoos-1280×720.jpg

So my question is:
Do you guys specialize in these kind of tattoos?

And how much does it cost to get a tattoo like that?
Size – 3×3 inches

Is it possible to get colors in the tattoo, like in the example?

Happy to hear back from you guys,
Drew

I also have some other questions, so feel free to answer those:
1. What ingredients in the ink you’d use for the colors in the tattoo?
2. Does color ink causes an itchy rash? I have kinda sensitive skin.
3. Can you perform a patch test?
4. Are you a licensed tattoo artist?
5. In case you did some single-line tattoos, can you share some examples?

Thanks!

HI Ya Drew!

Answers to below questions…

Do you guys specialize in these kind of tattoos?
********* No, we do all tattoos, it depends on the size really, our smallest needle might not be that small, but it would be fairly close.

And how much does it cost to get a tattoo like that?
Size – 3×3 inches
*********Minimum cost of a tattoo is our deposit amount of $100 final cost depends on many factors so the final price on this depends on the day of and how well you sit.

Is it possible to get colors in the tattoo, like in the example?
*********yup yup we do color, yup the watercolor blend can do

1. What ingredients in the ink you’d use for the colors in the tattoo?
******we use the Eternal Brand
2. Does color ink causes an itchy rash? I have kinda sensitive skin.
******thats something we cannot predict
3. Can you perform a patch test?
******any time the machine is getting set up, going to be shop minimum
4. Are you a licensed tattoo artist?
******Licensed shop with 2 professionals and one Apprentice
5. In case you did some single-line tattoos, can you share some examples?

Hello there and thanks for reaching out!

Yes, we do fine line pieces like your examples quite often. An approximate price would be around $150, depending on whether you wanted color, and how much. We charge by time so it just depends on how long the piece overall would take. Sierra and Erin (that’s me) are the only ones willing to work with color here, as Ally does only black and gray work.

As far as the ingredients in the ink, we use several different brands, but by and large the ingredients across the higher quality brands in the industry utilize some combination of; powdered pigment, distilled water, glycerin, isopropyl alcohol, and sometimes witch hazel. The ingredients for the pigments themselves are pretty much the same as what’s in some paints, and sometimes food dyes. If one is concerned about carcinogens or heavy metals, yes, there are some in some of the pigments, and I can link you to the specific brands that we use if you’d like to look up some MSDS sheets. We only purchase inks from trusted manufacturers with a long history of openness and success with their colors, and so far in all my almost 20 years of tattooing have never had a recall on any of my batches.

Color ink can at times cause a reaction in the skin, though it is impossible to tell who it will happen to, and when. I’ve had some clients have a reaction in their pieces 10 years after getting the tattoo, and only on some parts of it, and not others. Red has been known to be the most guilty, but I’ve seen it happen through a variety of colors, and mostly black, for some reason. Tattooing does carry its own risks, and there’s no real telling how one’s body will react to the pigments being locked in there. If you have serious questions about a potential reaction, I would advise you to speak with a dermatologist, or at least your general practitioner. We also use rubbing alcohol to clean the skin, and some of our soaps may cause irritation as well. Common issues with tattoo ink are pretty easy to find stories of on the internet, but do be a little wary of overblown cautionary tales. We try to work with sensitive skinned clients as much as we can, but there really is no way around the procedure being slightly invasive, uncomfortable, and carrying a little risk with the pigment being in the skin.

We can perform a patch test if you like and I’ve done so for several clients before. Haven’t had any issues as of yet, though there is a bit of a difference between having it on the surface of the skin and having it in broken skin.

We are all licensed here, as well, by the health department, and get our licenses renewed every year as well as get inspected annually. None of us has ever had a mark or citation against us as artists, or our establishment. We take the quality of our work seriously and not only comply with the health department’s guidelines, but go above and beyond them in several ways.

The frequently asked questions page on our website is full of information about us, how we operate, and a list of guidelines as well as the kind of aftercare we recommend. We also have examples of our work there, as well as links to the shop’s Instagram account, which links to the individual artists who have more examples of their work on those pages.

I hope this information helps and let us know if you have any other questions!

—Erin
