Hi!
I am interested in getting a single-line tattoo on my leg. Something like the cat here: https://img1.rapidleaks.com/2019/05/best-single-line-tattoos-1280×720.jpg
So my question is:
Do you guys specialize in these kind of tattoos?
And how much does it cost to get a tattoo like that?
Size – 3×3 inches
Is it possible to get colors in the tattoo, like in the example?
Happy to hear back from you guys,
Drew
I also have some other questions, so feel free to answer those:
1. What ingredients in the ink you’d use for the colors in the tattoo?
2. Does color ink causes an itchy rash? I have kinda sensitive skin.
3. Can you perform a patch test?
4. Are you a licensed tattoo artist?
5. In case you did some single-line tattoos, can you share some examples?
Thanks!

hi there…
thanks for messaging me. To answer your questions…
*yes; I do line work and water color.
*depending on the area of your body an estimate would be between $150-$200.
*yes; color is possible.
*different colors have different ingredients, similar to how oil paints have different elements to make up the colors. Most tattoo color pigments are in an ink base usually consisting of varying amounts of glycerin, alcohol, witch hazel and other carriers. All of the pigments I used are manufactured in the US and meet OSHA standards.
*not all color inks produce that kind of reaction. Usually if people are going to have an issue it is with red or colors with red in them.
*if you have very sensitive skin I would error on the side of not using these colors.
*no; we can’t do a patch test.
*there is no license per artist in South Dakota. We are licensed by the establishment. Yes; my studio is licensed. Personally, I have been in the industry for over 25 years and been tattooing for over 20 years.
*There are several examples of my work, including line work & water color on the studio Facebook page and jamesannbarlean on Instagram.
Hope that gives you some of the information you were looking for. Feel free to reach out with any other questions.
Thanks again

Hi Drew,
To answer some of your questions,
I don’t “specialize” in any tattoos. I have to be able to do anything from simple linework like you want to portraits to cartoons new and old school stuff as I am the only artist that works here for most of the year.
The tattoo you want would be between 60 and 75 dollars.
Yes, the color effect you want is easily done.
All of the ink that I use is from FDA approved professional tattoo ink companies.
I have only seen reactions to red ink and only about 8 of those in 31 years of tattooing.
Yes, I can preform a patch test on you, however you would have to wait a week from the test to get your design done to give it time to heal and see if there will be any reaction.
Yes, I am a licenced tattoo artist in this state.
If you would like to see examples of my work go to the Tattoo Cellars page on Facebook and scroll down to see if some of what is there meets your criteria.
Thanks for your inquiry, I hope this answers your questions satisfactoraly.
