Hi!

I am interested in getting a single-line tattoo on my leg. Something like the cat here: https://www.xotly.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Single-Line-Tattoo.jpg

So my question is:
Do you guys specialize in these kind of tattoos?

And how much does it cost to get a tattoo like that?
Size – 3×3 inches

Is it possible to get colors in the tattoo, like in the example?

Happy to hear back from you guys,
Drew

I also have some other questions, so feel free to answer those:
1. What ingredients in the ink you’d use for the colors in the tattoo?
2. Does color ink causes an itchy rash? I have kinda sensitive skin.
3. Can you perform a patch test?
4. Are you a licensed tattoo artist?
5. In case you did some single-line tattoos, can you share some examples?

Thanks!

If you would like to go forward with booking this, you would have to stop in and put down a $50 deposit. Unless you would like to book a consultation to further discuss your idea, then you can call to set that up. In terms of quote, we can’t give you an exact number because it depends on how long it takes the artist, so this could be anywhere from $150-200.

To answer your other questions. All of our artists are licensed and the certificates are displayed in their stations. We have not ever done patch tests, but if you wanted one, we would have to charge you shop minimum which is $100 to tattoo a dot on you and wait 2 weeks to heal before doing the tattoo. We have never had any clients have a reaction to our inks. The tattoo will itch during healing but rashes are not common unless you fail to take care of the tattoo correctly. Our artists portfolios are on our website and social media accounts, you can check out their artwork there. In terms of the inks, we use brands that include Eternal ink, Intenze ink, silverback if you want to look into ingredients.

Email Response

Hi Drew,

Thanks for the message.

Any of the artists at the studio would do an amazing job with this tattoo for you. You can check out some of their work on our website (www.redhousetattoo.com) as well as on their social media pages (there are links to their social media accounts on the website on each artist’s pages). It’s always a good idea to work with an artist that you are most drawn to. On our website you will find information as to when everyone is booking as well as which artists have closed their books.

Once you know what artist you want to work with, you will need to submit a form with your ideas. They will then be able to give you a rough idea of price. You’ll find the forms on our website as well. An artist may suggest that you go a bit larger with the design though so that it will age well over time.

As far as your other questions:

Is it possible to get colors in the tattoo, like in the example? Absolutely. Our artists love working in color.

What ingredients in the ink you’d use for the colors in the tattoo? All of our artists use primarily Eternal Ink and Intense. Here are links to their websites: https://www.eternaltattoosupply.com and https://intenzetattooink.com Most ink companies will not give out an exact ingredient list, but all consist of pigment, water, alcohol and glycerin (plant derived). Both companies have been rigorously tested and are covered by our professional insurance. If you have a specific allergy to a pigment, you can reach out to both companies to see if they use them.

Does color ink causes an itchy rash? I have kinda sensitive skin. Back in the day, inks were made differently and many people had issues with red. That is no longer the case. Of course there is always a possibility of an allergic reaction, but I have not seen one in over 20 years.

Can you perform a patch test? Of course. A patch test will cost our shop minimum of $60 because we have to open all new supplies. A design like the one that you sent over can contain 12-20 different colors so you will have that many patches. We can probably put them in the area where the new tattoo is going and then cover them up when you do the actual tattoo.

Are you a licensed tattoo artist? All of our artists are licensed through Erie county.

In case you did some single-line tattoos, can you share some examples? Take a look at our website and social media for examples of everyone’s work. You may not see the exact type of design that you are looking for, but you will find examples of everyone’s line work and some watercolor effects.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
