Connecticut
One of the original 13 colonies to become the U.S., Connecticut was nicknamed the “Arsenal of the Nation,” owing to being a significant supplier of guns and ammunition during the Revolutionary War. This role was resurrected in World War I, and the state is still a major manufacturer of weapons, helicopters, and jet engines.
It also produces a variety of other goods, motors, hardware, eggs, and fruit (namely pears and peaches). Connecticut is a smart choice for potential small businesses that want to be based in New England but not close to major cities or oversaturated markets.
