Out of the lower 48 states, Texas is the largest. It contains a landmass of over 250,000 square miles—nearly twice the size of California and 50 times larger than Connecticut. Additionally, it’s the second-most populous U.S. state, containing six of the nation’s twenty most densely populated cities.
Texas was an independent nation after the Texas Revolution and Battle of the Alamo. As many may know from the hit T.V. show Dallas, the state is rich in oil and boasts a highly profitable mining industry. Although relatively expensive compared to other states, Texas is attractive to small businesses wishing to expand thanks to its large landmass and population.
