Hi!
I am interested in getting a single-line tattoo on my leg. Something like the cat here: https://img1.rapidleaks.com/2019/05/best-single-line-tattoos-1280×720.jpg
So my question is:
Do you guys specialize in these kind of tattoos?
And how much does it cost to get a tattoo like that?
Size – 3×3 inches
Is it possible to get colors in the tattoo, like in the example?
Happy to hear back from you guys,
Drew
I also have some other questions, so feel free to answer those:
1. What ingredients in the ink you’d use for the colors in the tattoo?
2. Does color ink causes an itchy rash? I have kinda sensitive skin.
3. Can you perform a patch test?
4. Are you a licensed tattoo artist?
5. In case you did some single-line tattoos, can you share some examples?
Thanks!

Hello Drew,
We can do something like this, however, our artists don’t recommend color ink that doesn’t have a black outline. It simply does not hold up over time.
Our rates start at $200/ hour, with a $200 shop minimum, so I can’t give an exact price until the final design/ size is determined between you and the artist.
Artists supply their own inks, so ingredients may differ between brands they use.
There can be a bit of itching during the healing process but it’s caused by the healing itself, not from the ink.
Not sure about a patch test since they would have to set up everything to do that.
Everyone is different in the way their body may react to the ink / process/ and healing.
All of our artists are legally required to be certified to practice tattooing.
You can view our artists’ work on our website/ instagram to see what they have done.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks

Hello Drew, Thank you for contacting me. I’d be happy to answer your questions.
I do a lot of fine line detail tattoos so it would be no problem to do that kind of tattoo.
I would be able to add color like that also.
Pricing is charged hourly at $180 an hour. If you did the tattoo roughly 3 x 3“ and had to color with it, it would likely take about an hour and a half or so.
They inks are natural ingredients, I don’t know the specific chemical make up. The company that I use is Starbrite so if you want you could look them up. I’ve used them for many years with no problem.
The ink should not cause an itchy rash. However, the one color that can sometimes cause an allergic reaction is the red. It’s rare but that is a possibility.
I don’t do patch tests, you would have to pay for an hour minimum so it wouldn’t really be worth it.
I am a licensed tattoo artist, I’ve been tattooing since 1995. I owned a shop in Manhattan for 21 years on Avenue A and 13th St. and I am here for three years in Long Island city.
There are lots of examples of my work on Instagram and you can also check out my website Inkstoptattoonyc.com. There’s a lot of fine line stuff so you would be able to see the outline and determine whether that would work for you.
One other thing I should mention is that I am booked out pretty far ahead, currently it’s all the way until July so I don’t know if that would factor in anything for you. If you wanted to have a consultation first it’s not a problem, just let me know and I can give you available dates. It is not until March at this point though.
Thanks, Eric
