Hi!

I am interested in getting a single-line tattoo on my leg. Something like the cat here: https://www.xotly.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Single-Line-Tattoo.jpg

So my question is:
Do you guys specialize in these kind of tattoos?

And how much does it cost to get a tattoo like that?
Size – 3×3 inches

Is it possible to get colors in the tattoo, like in the example?

Happy to hear back from you guys,
Drew

I also have some other questions, so feel free to answer those:
1. What ingredients in the ink you’d use for the colors in the tattoo?
2. Does color ink causes an itchy rash? I have kinda sensitive skin.
3. Can you perform a patch test?
4. Are you a licensed tattoo artist?
5. In case you did some single-line tattoos, can you share some examples?

Thanks!

Email Response

Hey Drew,

Thank you for contacting the shop! Ill answer all the questions in the order I get them:

We don’t specialize in these tattoos but the line quality is the biggest factor and makes that tattoo. All of our artists can execute clean single lines or sculpted lines (the second photo) to give you the desired look!

Pricing comes down to between you and the artist. The shop minimum is $100 no matter how little the tattoo is and the hourly is $175/hour but that is typically for larger scale pieces. Prices can be discussed with the available artist.

Color is always doable, but totally up to you.

All of our inks are vegan and organic however, red ink and inks in that family can lead to reactions sometimes but that depends on the individual.

We haven’t had anyone request it before but I’ll have to double check with the manager on that one.
Maryland doesn’t have a license but we follow protocols from other states that are licensed to ensure cleanliness is upheld and have all the forms we can physically get through the state (Bloodborne Pathogens and First Aid Certifications).

We don’t have any in the artists portfolios but you can check each artist out. They should have some posted on their instagrams which can be found on the website.

I hope this was helpful. Please feel free to let me know if you have any other questions!

Look forward to hearing from you!

Nick

Email Response

Hello Drew

We do single line tattoos. We are a custom walk in based shop ( we are currently working by appointment only) with over 40 years combined experience in all forms of tattooing but we not specialize in one type of tattoo.

We based our prices off of size and detail of each piece and a design like this would most likely start around $150.

Color is definitely possible but would effect the total cost of the tattoo.

All of our inks are plant based products and any metal content is almost non existent. while healing tattoos are open wounds and need to be cared for, reactions are extremely uncommon.

People with extra sensitive skin sometimes experience more swelling or inflammation at the site but generally we do see any complications. We can do a patch test but we do not do them for free and our base price is $80.

All of our artist are professionally trained however the state of MD does not issue licenses for tattooing.

You can see our work on our website www.thetattooery.com the website also includes links to our social media pages ( which are updated more often). We generally tend to post and display the larger more colorful pieces and not so much the smaller single line stuff. I hope I have adequately answered your questions. If you have any additional questions or would like to speak with an artist about availability, please send along a contact number and we will reach out as soon possible. Have a great day
